Crete
Two months on Crete, split between Chania’s old town and Stavros, gave us more than twenty stories from Greece. Around Chania we walked to the beaches, poked around the Venetian Harbor and the market hall, watched leather workers and chair makers at work, and ate plenty of bougatsa. Road trips took us into the mountains, to the pink sand of Elafonisi, to Knossos and Heraklion’s museum, and to Loutro for coastal hikes.
