Our six stories from Luxor, Egypt start with the flight in from Athens over the Sahara and end with two nights at the Winter Palace, whose front steps took our breath away. In between we walked the Luxor Temple and the Avenue of the Sphinxes, took History 101 at the museum, and drifted down the Nile on a sunset felucca ride. Late January, it turns out, brings perfect weather to the East Bank.
