This particular stretch of coastline on Zakynthos looked close enough to an idealized postcard image that we had to remind ourselves it was a real, physically reachable beach rather than something staged for a brochure, sand pale enough to look almost white against water shifting through several shades of blue. We came across it during a short stay on the island, one stop among several that made the whole week feel considerably more scenic than we had expected going in.
