Medusa Head Mosaic in Athens
The player loads from YouTube only when you press play.
A mosaic of Medusa’s head stared back at us from the ground in Athens, the kind of ancient motif meant to ward off evil rather than decorate, her snake hair rendered in small colored stones that have survived centuries underfoot. We filmed it longer than a mosaic probably deserves, half joking about the old warning that staring too long might not end well for us. It is a small detail easy to walk straight over if you are not looking down.
