Flying from Zakynthos to Athens, the propeller blades on our small plane briefly appeared to freeze completely mid rotation, the spinning speed matching the camera’s frame rate just enough to create the illusion that they had stopped moving entirely mid flight. It only lasted a few seconds before the effect broke, but it was disorienting enough in the moment that we both did a double take. Sometimes a camera catches something your eyes would never notice on their own.
