Metro and the Agora of Athens with Glimpse of the Acropolis
The player loads from YouTube only when you press play.
Athens’ metro runs briefly above ground right beside the Ancient Agora, close enough that a train passing through the shot lines up almost perfectly with the Acropolis rising on the hill behind it, two completely different eras of the city sharing the same frame for a few seconds. We waited for a train more than once to get the timing right. It is one of the few places where three thousand years of Athens compress into a single, ordinary commute.
