A Greek Dream Come True: Loutro

Loutro is only reachable by boat, a small splash of white houses tucked at the base of the cliffs on Crete’s south coast. Bad weather had closed the Samaria Gorge, scrapping our original hiking plan, so we took a bus to Hora Sfakion instead and caught the ferry from there. These are our impressions of that ferry ride, calm turquoise water and the cliffs sliding by, and of arriving in a village that looks almost too picturesque to be real.
