A Rewarding Hike Near Chania – Crete / From Stavros Through the Mountains to a Small Beach

We already shared the drone footage from this hike between Stavros and Katholiko Beach, so this video is the closer, ground-level version, the small details you miss from the air. The trail starts near the cave church on the Vardies Mountain and winds through a slow gorge ascent, past grazing sheep, a determined dung beetle, and a few goats that seemed impossibly stuck on a steep rock face. Both together give a fuller picture of one of our favorite Cretan hikes.
