Valencia Hosts the Goya Awards – A Night of Stars and Fireworks #2022

In 2022 the Goya Awards, Spanish cinema’s biggest night, took over Valencia’s City of Arts and Sciences, fireworks lighting up Calatrava’s white curved buildings while a red carpet crowd gathered below. The city leaned fully into hosting it, with a tribute planned for the director Berlanga, a hometown figure whose legacy runs deep here. We caught a few minutes of the spectacle from outside the barriers, fireworks reflecting off all that white architecture in a way that felt built for exactly this occasion.
