Just outside Albarracín, an old aqueduct has been carved and tunneled directly through the rock rather than built up on arches the way most Roman era water systems tend to be, letting you actually walk through sections of it rather than just admire it from below. We ducked through the low passage with a flashlight, stone walls close on both sides and cool air moving through from somewhere further along the tunnel. It is a quiet, almost forgotten piece of engineering hidden in plain landscape.
