For the first time since February 2020, we packed for a trip that actually takes us out of Spain, a stretch of time long enough that the idea of leaving the country again felt almost unfamiliar by comparison. We filmed the preparation and the departure itself, aware of how different international travel now feels after that long a gap. Crossing a border again after this much time carried more weight than it probably would have a few years earlier.
