The Ancient Art of Palm Weaving in Valencia #valencia
The player loads from YouTube only when you press play.
Around Valencia, palm weaving is a skill still passed down by hand, artisans working pale, dried palm leaves into intricate ornaments ahead of Palm Sunday. We watched one weaver’s fingers move through the strands almost too fast to follow, folding and looping without ever glancing down at the pattern forming underneath them. No machine touches any part of the process. It is the kind of quiet, exact craftsmanship that is easy to miss if you are only passing through for the festival.
