When the meds kick in at the museum. A visit to the Museo de Bellas Artes de Valencia

The Museo de Bellas Artes in Valencia holds a collection of old religious paintings intense enough in their expressions and detail that walking through the gallery slowly starts to feel slightly uncanny, faces rendered with an intensity that modern museum lighting only seems to amplify. We filmed a pass through several of the rooms, half joking about how alive some of the figures looked under that lighting. It is a genuinely strong collection for a museum that gets less attention than it deserves.
