Walking into the Mezquita in Córdoba means stepping under an endless field of red and white striped double arches, rows repeating in every direction until the perspective starts to feel almost hypnotic. We had already seen the Alhambra and the Sagrada Familia earlier in Spain, and this one held its own against both without needing to compete directly, the sheer repetition of the arches doing something the other two buildings do not attempt. Walking through them left us genuinely a little giddy.
