Valencia is changing – Lefties Shopping Mall Escalator

Calle Colón in Valencia now has a shopping mall called Lefties that would not look out of place in a much larger, flashier city, escalators and glass finishes giving the street a different energy than it had only a matter of months earlier. We filmed the escalator specifically because the contrast with the rest of the historic street around it felt so stark, glossy retail architecture dropped directly into a neighborhood otherwise defined by older buildings. The city keeps shifting in ways that surprise even people who live here.
