Zena Trophy 2018 Daylight Firework – Colorful Smoke

The Zena Trophy fireworks festival in Kalkar opened with this daylight display, full of colored smoke rather than the usual flashes and bangs you’d expect after dark. Rain moved in partway through and gave the camera some trouble, so a few shots are rougher than we’d like, but the colors still came through. It was our first Zena Trophy, and this opening set the tone for a festival built around genuinely different kinds of fireworks.
