The Weird Kochbrunnen in Wiesbaden, Germany #geothermal

We did not expect to find a hot spring steaming away in the middle of Wiesbaden, but the Kochbrunnen sits right in the city center, fountain water rising warm enough to send visible steam into the cooler air around it. It felt like stumbling onto something that should be out in nature rather than surrounded by ordinary city streets and passing traffic. We stood there longer than planned, just watching the steam rise and drift, still slightly unsure what to make of it.
