The Waldspirale in Darmstadt looks like nothing else in the city, a spiral apartment block by Friedensreich Hundertwasser with a grass roof, gold onion dome, and not a single straight wall anywhere on its facade. We circled it slowly with the camera, then found a nearby car park with a rooftop view that let us see the whole spiral shape from above for the first time. Even knowing photos of it beforehand, standing in front of the real building was different.
