Paternoster Flemmings in Frankfurt Germany #hotel
The player loads from YouTube only when you press play.
A paternoster is essentially a vertical loop of open cabins moving continuously with no doors and no stop button, and the one at the Fleming’s Hotel near Frankfurt’s Eschenheimer Tor is still fully operational for guests willing to time their step correctly. We filmed the mechanism itself, the chain of cabins disappearing up through the ceiling and reappearing from the floor below in an endless loop. It is a genuinely strange way to travel between floors once you actually see it moving.
