Line 9 runs from the Schloss in central Darmstadt out to Böllenfalltor, and riding it end to end turned into one of the easiest ways we found to see the city without planning a single stop. We filmed most of the route from a window seat, watching the buildings shift from grand and historic near the palace to quiet and residential further out. Public transit rarely gets filmed for its own sake, but this ride earned it.
