The Desplantà of Fallas 2020 Due To The CoVID-19 Virus – Escif Fallas Figure Valencia – Postponed!

Fallas 2020 was postponed because of COVID-19, something that hadn’t happened since the Spanish Civil War, and it left the city with an unfamiliar sight: a desplantà, the figures coming back down instead of going up in flames. We went to see Escif’s giant meditating woman one last time before it disappeared, not knowing yet how long the postponement would actually last. It was a strange, quiet ending to a festival that never really got to happen.
