The Fallas commission of Mossén Sorell-Corona hired the pyrotechnicians of Vulcano for something we’d never seen before: an experimental mascletà built around a single massive burst, over 100,000 firecrackers set off together into one enormous ball of explosions and heat. After years of watching traditional mascletàs across the city, this one genuinely caught us off guard. We’re hoping other commissions start experimenting the same way.
