A Visit To Almansa – A great day trip from Valencia. Castle and yummy Gazpacho Manchego
The player loads from YouTube only when you press play.
We moved to Valencia in 2008 and rented our first apartment from a painter who kept inviting us, year after year, to visit his hometown of Almansa, just across the border in Castilla-La Mancha. It took twelve years, but we finally made the trip, touring the castle that watches over the town and sitting down to a proper bowl of gazpacho manchego, the hearty local version that has nothing to do with the cold tomato soup the name might suggest. A promise a long time coming, and worth the wait.
