Olga Diego’s Jardín Autómata – Blow Up Figure Installation – Centre del Carme, Valencia
The player loads from YouTube only when you press play.
Jardín Autómata, an installation by artist Olga Diego at the Centre del Carme, filled a large room with what must have been close to a hundred inflatable figures, each one pumping itself up and slowly deflating again on its own rhythm. Walking in, the effect is genuinely eerie, dozens of shapes breathing in near-unison around you. We caught it back in October 2018, and it’s stuck with us as one of the stranger art experiences we’ve had in Valencia.
