Fallas 2021 – Entrega de los premios, September 2nd & 3rd – Fallas with Masks
The player loads from YouTube only when you press play.
The Entrega de los Premios is when Fallas commissions march through the city to the Plaza del Ayuntamiento to collect their prizes, marching bands leading the way as always, but in 2021 every fallera and fallero wore a mask through the whole two-day event. It might be the strangest edition of Fallas we’ve seen, staged in September instead of March and shaped at every turn by the pandemic. Even so, the competitiveness that drives everything about this festival, from the figures to the fireworks, was fully intact.
