Ancient Egypt’s Most Famous Guardian Has Four Paws 🐾 | Karnak Temple
The player loads from YouTube only when you press play.
Karnak’s Great Hypostyle Hall pulls every eye upward, one hundred thirty four columns rising into a forest of carved stone. We were still craning our necks at the capitals when a cat sauntered out from behind a pillar, tail up, moving through the ruins like it had been assigned to patrol them for three thousand years. Tourists stepped aside without being asked. By the time we left, we had more photos of the cat than of the temple, and we do not regret it.
