We are back in Springfield, this time right as the town was buzzing with election season energy. We have been coming here for sixteen years now to visit family, and it is definitely not the kind of place we would breathlessly recommend to every traveler – there is real poverty and plenty of empty buildings. But it has its own history and charm, and after this many visits, it has genuinely grown on us.
