La Lonja, sunset and a flag

Right before sunset is our favorite time to be out in Valencia, and this particular evening we spent it in front of La Lonja, the historic silk exchange, watching the Valencian flag catch the last wind of the day against a sky just starting to turn color. The building’s Gothic stonework looks different in that specific light, shadows deepening across the carved details as the sun drops lower behind it. Some evenings are worth planning entirely around getting the timing right.
