Fallas Artist Vicente Domínguez – Visiting his Workshop in Benimàmet, Valencia

Vicente Domínguez runs his Fallas workshop out of Benimàmet rather than the more crowded Ciutat Fallera, where most artists set up shop, focusing mainly on the smaller Infantil figures made for children’s versions of the monuments. We reached out ahead of time and asked to visit, which meant we could actually watch him work without feeling like we were interrupting. With the whole Fallas sector struggling through the pandemic, and a scaled-back September 2021 edition on the calendar, it felt like a good moment to check in on one of the artists behind it.
