We were genuinely shocked when this falla, nicknamed The Wedding, took the last spot in the Sección Especial for 2018, but watching it burn made the case for itself: funny, packed with detail, and genuinely well made underneath the jokes. La Crema is always intense, the heat rolling off these monuments as they go up, but this one felt faster and fiercer than most. Even days later, we still felt half-roasted just remembering it.
