A short trip from Valencia into Castilla-La Mancha for a fireworks festival took us past a row of old, well preserved windmills standing along a ridge exactly the way they do in every illustration of Don Quijote’s famous confrontation with imagined giants. We filmed them from below, unable to resist the urge to act out at least a small version of that scene ourselves. Some landscapes come pre-loaded with their own literary reference whether you plan for it or not.
