We have family in Darmstadt and visit at least once a year, always telling ourselves we will finally check out Hundertwasser’s Waldspirale. On this trip we actually made the time, and it did not disappoint – the building curves and bulges with barely a straight line anywhere in sight. Darmstadt has a long history of embracing unconventional architecture, and this apartment complex might be the strangest example of it.
