London Heathrow Self Driving Pods – To Airport Hotel

Getting from the terminal to our airport hotel at Heathrow turned into an actual highlight once we realized the transfer runs on autonomous pods, small driverless vehicles gliding along their own dedicated track with no rails and no visible driver controls at all. We rode it slightly longer than necessary, more curious about the technology than in a hurry to reach the hotel. It is a strange, quietly impressive piece of infrastructure tucked into what is usually the most forgettable part of any trip.
