Bannalp Alphorn Player And Gondola Ride

Up at Bannalp Lake, above Lucerne, we found a bench with a view and settled in to enjoy it. Out of nowhere, a Swiss local appeared with his alphorn and started to play, the long, low notes carrying across the water and the surrounding peaks. The gondola ride up was a smaller, vintage cabin, recommended by friends and easy on the wallet compared to some of the other lines nearby. It doesn’t get much more Swiss than this.
