Our Aegean Airlines flight from Athens to Luxor turned into one of the best legs of the whole trip, just for the view out the window. The deep blue of the Mediterranean gradually gave way to an endless stretch of desert as we crossed into Egypt. It was also our first time flying out of the Extra-Schengen part of the Athens airport, a section of the terminal we had never had a reason to see before.
