A short weekend in the Mountain of Alicante – Benimantell & Guadalest Castle

After our week by the sea in Altea, we weren’t quite ready to head home, so we booked two more nights inland at Benimantell, a small mountain town in the Alicante backcountry, close to the more famous Guadalest and its castle. It’s a cooler, greener area than the coast, the kind of spot we’d somehow never explored despite years of living close by. A short weekend, but exactly the change of pace we needed after so long stuck in the city.
