Denver had its big blue bear, so we were happy to add Washington DC’s big blue rooster to our running list of oversized public art. It’s just one piece among many scattered through the city, with the National Gallery’s Sculpture Garden holding some of our favorites. We spent longer than expected wandering between the pieces there, always drawn to art that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
