We rode this cogwheel train from Montreux to Rochers de Naye back in April, during a short stay in Lausanne, and it turned into one of the best train rides of the whole trip. The climb from lake level up to the Alpine summit happens gradually, with the scenery opening up more and more as the train works its way up the mountain. By the time we reached the top, we were saying it was worth building an entire day around.
