Luxor

Late January was the perfect time for our visit to Luxor, Egypt, starting with a flight from Athens over the Sahara and two nights at the Winter Palace, whose front steps took our breath away. We took in the East Bank, the temple and the Avenue of the Sphinxes, got a history refresher at the museum, and did the one thing you feel obliged to do: a sunset felucca ride on the Nile.
