San Cristóbal de La Laguna on Tenerife served as a planning template that influenced the layout of several cities founded later in the Americas, Savannah among them, a fact that connects two very different destinations we have separately spent extended time researching for our travel blog. We filmed the grid streets and colonial architecture of La Laguna, tracing the same underlying logic we later recognized while walking through Savannah’s own historic squares.
