As the sun went down over Emerald Bay on Pangkor Island, wild boar started emerging from the treeline onto the sand, moving with a caution that suggested they knew exactly when the beach usually empties out for the day. We had not expected wildlife like this to show up so close to a resort stretch of coastline, and stayed still long enough to watch several of them work along the waterline before disappearing back into the trees. It was a genuinely pleasant surprise to end the day on.
