We filmed an Americano being made in close, slow motion, steam curling off the surface right as the water finished pouring through, close enough that it genuinely feels like the coffee smell should come through the screen along with the visual. It is a small, familiar ritual most people go through without ever really looking at closely, and slowing it down changes how ordinary it feels. Coffee cultures vary wildly by country, but this particular moment stays the same almost everywhere.
