Our favorite time to ride Lisbon’s Tram 28 is after the day-trippers clear out, when the streets empty and, if the driver’s in the right mood, the tram picks up real speed rattling over the hills. Nothing in this footage is sped up, that’s genuinely how fast and jerky the ride gets on some of the steeper curves. It’s the closest thing to a roller coaster that public transit has ever given us.
