A monkey on the private island we were staying on had clearly figured out exactly where the easiest food was, working through a bin with the kind of confident, practiced efficiency that only comes from doing something many times before. We filmed it from a respectful distance, more amused than annoyed at how unbothered it was by our presence. Even on an exclusive stretch of resort coastline, the local wildlife apparently has its own opinions about who the place actually belongs to.
