Falling asleep in the car during a long American road trip and waking up to a completely unfamiliar stretch of landscape is a specific kind of disorientation that does not really happen the same way on the smaller, denser roads back in Europe, distances here stretching far enough that entire regions change while you are out cold. We filmed the moment of waking up to exactly that kind of view, still catching up mentally with how far the car had actually gone.
