Climbing up to La Seu Vella in Lleida takes some effort, a steep path leading to a hilltop cathedral that has looked out over this same stretch of the Ebro valley for centuries. The view from the top made the climb worth it immediately, rooftops and river spreading out below in every direction with almost no modern skyline to interrupt it. Between this site and the newer cathedral down in the city, we found ourselves drawn back to the older one twice.
