La Seu Vella in Lleida – Hopefully Soon a UNESCO World Heritage

La Seu Vella sits on a hill above Lleida, a fortified medieval cathedral complex that has been on the shortlist for UNESCO World Heritage status for years without quite making it official yet. We spent two nights in the city mainly to have enough time to properly explore the site without rushing, walking the cloister and climbing up toward the bell tower for views over the surrounding plain. It felt like one of those places that deserves more visitors than it gets.
