Waking up on Karpathos in September meant early sun coming in low enough to reach the bed before we were even fully awake, and stepping out onto the terrace afterward gave us a view that made getting up early feel like less of a sacrifice than usual. We filmed that first look at the morning light settling over the island, late summer still holding on just enough to keep the mornings warm without the peak season crowds.
