One of our photos, taken years ago in Ghana, turned up used online well over a hundred times, never licensed, never paid for, never even acknowledged with so much as a credit. Running it through a reverse image search was the only way we found out, watching copy after copy scroll past on sites we had never heard of. It raises an uncomfortable question for anyone making a living from images, since a photo can travel the world without its creator ever knowing.
