El Parador de Lleida – A Walk Through This Historic Hotel

For Jurgen’s birthday this year, we planned a surprise winter road trip from Valencia to a hotel instead of the usual restaurant or gift – the Parador de Lleida, set inside a restored 17th-century convent. We often seek out Paradors when traveling in Spain, since the state-run chain tends to put its hotels inside genuinely historic buildings rather than generic new ones. This time we picked the destination because of the hotel itself, and walking its old stone corridors made that decision feel completely justified.
